Inflation in Kazakhstan amounted to 0.2 percent in September 2013, a report from Kazakhstan's Statistics Agency said.
According to the report, food prices in the country decreased by 0.2 percent, while non-food goods rose by 0.2 percent.
According to the Agency, the prices of solid fuel in Kazakhstan increased by 0.5 percent, newspapers and periodicals - by 0.4 percent, clothing and footwear - by 0.3 percent, pharmaceutical products - by 0.2 percent. Diesel fuel rose by 0.3 percent, and gasoline - by 0.2 percent.
As for food prices, in September 2013, a decrease in price was recorded for potatoes - 10.7 percent, fresh vegetables - 8.4 percent, fresh fruit - 2.6 percent, buckwheat - 0,9 percent, sugar - 0.5 percent, sunflower oil - 0.3 percent.
The increase in prices was observed for eggs - by 3.7 percent, rice - by 2.2 percent, semolina - by 1.8 percent, raw milk - by 1.5 percent, cottage cheese - one percent, kefir - by 0.8 percent, pearl barley - 0.7 percent, tea, meat and poultry - by 0.6 percent each, confectionery products - by 0.3 percent, Kazakhstan's Statistics Agency said.
According to the Agency, the prices of education services rose by 4.1 percent, health care services - by 3.1 percent, restaurants and hotel services - by 0.5 percent, leisure, entertainment and culture services - by 0.4 percent, prices at hairdressers and personal service establishments - by 0.3 percent. Long distance passenger rail service fell by 1.6 percent.
Tariffs for housing maintenance rose by 0.8 percent, and housing leases rose by 1.4 percent.
