The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry has announced the operating results of the top 10 insurance companies for January -February, 2014. Over 80 percent of the total insurance payments accounted for them.
Some 28 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operated in Azerbaijan during that period.

Pasa Sıgorta led the ranking on insurance payments on two month which accounted for nearly 21 percent of premiums paid by all companies in January-February. During the reporting period, the company paid 3.93 million manat.
The next in the ranking is Atashgah Sıgorta with payments totalling 2.09 million (10.99 percent of all payments) and Azersigorta with payments of 1.95 million (10.25 percent).
Total premiums amounted to 91.62 million manat in January- February, 2014, a 16.32 percent increase in a year and payments in this period reached 19.02 million manat, a 17.33 percent increase.
The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry's report did not include the figures of the only reinsurance company AzRE.
The official exchange rate on March 19 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
