Up to 10 percent of the forecasted production volume of cotton seeds and 3 percent of the forecasted volume of seeds of cereal crops will be directed to the formation of the main seed fund of these important agriculture crops of Uzbekistan in 2015.
A procedure for creation of an insurance seed fund and its use was approved by a resolution of the Government of Uzbekistan.
The production volume of cotton seeds and cereal crops for the creation of the insurance seed fund in accordance with the document is approved by a joint decision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, the state association Uzhlopkoprom and Uzzernoprodukt JSC on the base of the proposals of the Board of Farmers of Uzbekistan, the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan and regional administrations,
Herewith, the production volume of sowing seeds for the creation of insurance seed funds is approved in accordance with the territories, with the definition of the areas for breeding selective varieties and reproduction of cotton seeds and cereals.
The state certification and quality control center of seed crops under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan shall conduct laboratory tests for determining the quality of cotton seeds and grain crops.
Sowing seeds of cotton of the insurance seed fund (not more than one year) are kept at the enterprises for acceptance of raw-cotton and crop O'zpaxtasanoat Association and JSC Uzzernoprodukt in accordance with applicable standards, and are used by the consent of the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources of the government of the republic for their supplies to the regions, as well as for disaster and other purposes.
