Over 5.96 billion AZN was invested in the Azerbaijani oil sector in 2014 which is 16.6 percent more than in 2013, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report on the results of 2014 said.
The official exchange rate is 0.7844 AZN/USD Jan. 21.
The total volume of capital investments in the Azerbaijani industrial sector amounted to 7.29 billion AZN in 2014, which is 3.2 percent less than the same period of 2013, the report said.
Around 5.94 billion AZN of this amount was invested in the mining industry during this period, which is 16.2 percent more than in 2013.
Investments in production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and heat in 2014 amounted to 332.1 million AZN, which is 32.4 percent less than in the same period of 2013.
