Newly constructed buildings will be standardized in Turkey, the head of the Turkish Standards Institute Hulusi Senturk said, Turkish newspaper Haberturk reported Jan. 28.
"At present, there are big problems in the Turkish construction sector as most buildings do not meet current standards," he said. "This annoys buyers."
He also said that the Standards Institute will check the earlier built buildings.
Around 115,786 housing units were sold in the country in January-September 2014 or by 13.2 percent more than the same period of 2013, the Turkish Statistics Institute said.
Istanbul with 18.1 percent is in the lead in real estate sale in Turkey for this period.
Ankara with 6.1 percent ranked second in the real estate sale.
Earlier it was reported that around 37.3 percent of real estate in Turkey were sold on credit in January-September 2014.
Around 1,857 housing units were sold to the foreigners during this period.
