The ministry of energy of Georgia in October 2015 will complete a study of the energy potential of the rivers of the country, said the Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze at an energy conference in Tbilisi.
He said that about 300 rivers of 25,000 rivers in Georgia are of interest in terms of their energy potential.
The purpose of the study is to determine the energy potential of the rivers, the minister said.
The study helps to attract investment in alternative energy of Georgia, according to Kaladze.
"Development of energy of Georgia is our priority," said the minister. "We are well aware that the growth of economy is impossible without energy development. Georgia is rich in natural resources, and today only a small portion of available energy potential of rivers is mastered."
