Iran's exports to Europe registered a 3.9 percent rise in terms of value year on year and stood at $242 million during the first two months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-May 22).
It is while the figure witnessed a fall by 33.51 percent in the first Iranian calendar month (March 21-April 21) and accounted for $65 million.
The Islamic Republic exported 342,000 metric tons of goods to the European countries in the two-month period, which indicates a decrease of 4.4 percent in comparison with the same period of preceding year, the Iranian Customs Administration said in its latest monthly report released May 31.
European markets shared 4.5 percent of Tehran's total non-oil exports' value during the period.
Meanwhile, the European countries exported over 1.59 million metric tons of goods, worth $1.251 billion to Iran during the two-month period from March 21 to May 22.
The Islamic Republic's imports from the Europe registered a fall by 8.8 percent in terms of value and a rise by 6.5 percent in terms of volume respectively compared the same period of preceding year.
Iran's imports from Europe accounted for 19.7 percent of the country's total imports' value.
Switzerland was the Islamic Republic's main European trade partner during the period. The country exported over $346.3 million worth of goods to Iran, indicating a rise by 59.7 percent year on year.
Switzerland stood at sixth place among the countries exported goods to Iran.
Germany was the next top European goods exporter to Iran with $254.3 million worth of exports (indicating a fall by 11 percent), followed by Italy ($137.9 million worth of goods, 7.53 percent increase), the UK ($80.5 million or 9.5 percent less year on year) and Netherlands ($75 million, 40.5 percent fall).
The Islamic Republic's non-oil exports (excluding condensates) stood at $5.393 billion during first two months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-May 22), while imports accounted for $6.344 billion.
