Tashkent administration OKs big construction project

SF Global is going to implement a $500-million Sky City project in the capital of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent city administration said in a statement.

This project was approved by head of the capital’s administration Jahongir Artykkhojayev.

According to the information, investors are ready to invest half the cost of the project.

Within the framework of the project, SF Global is planning to build a complex of modern buildings with a height of 30-40 floors, including a hotel, an office and residential complexes.

It is expected that the construction will begin five months after the final approval of the site.

It should be noted that in the framework of the meeting with investors Jahongir Artykkhojayev presented a total of 62 projects worth $591 million, of which $173 million are direct foreign investments.

The projects envisage construction of residential complexes, social and production facilities, as well as shopping and entertainment complexes.

It was earlier reported that three different entertainment clusters will be built in the capital of Uzbekistan in the coming years under the Three Cities project.

The new clusters were named Ethno City (implemented by Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov), Cinema City (Deputy Prime Minister Alisher Sultanov) and City of People's Diplomacy (Deputy Prime Minister Sukhrob Kholmuradov).

The total cost of the project will exceed $100 million and will involve leading international companies, such as German R.I.D. GmbH, ASTEM\Stelwert Investments Private Equity Fund (USA and Ukraine), Etnomir (Russia), Royal Orbit Holding Group EEC (United Arab Emirates), Sinefekt Post Produksiyon Hizmetleri A.S. (Turkey), Whiteco Harvest Investments (Cyprus).
