Revenues for compulsory health insurance amounted to 22.3 billion tenge in Almaty, Kazinform reported.
The Almaty branch of the Compulsory Social Health Insurance (CSHI) Fund announced that during September, employers of the city transferred more than 1.7 billion tenge for compulsory social health insurance.
Thus, the total amount of income for CSHI from Almaty made up 22.3 billion tenge since the start of payments.
This is the largest income among all regions of Kazakhstan – 21.2 percent of all funds. Astana is in second place with 12.6 percent, and Karaganda region is third with 8.2 percent.
It is noteworthy that the total amount of deductions and contributions of Kazakhstan’s employers and individual entrepreneurs for CSHI has already exceeded 105 billion tenge.
All received funds are stored in the National Bank, with which a trust management agreement was concluded. The funds will be used to pay for services provided under the CSHI. The provision of medical services within the CSHI package will begin in 2020.
For many years, health insurance in Kazakhstan was voluntary, but the introduction of compulsory health insurance bears a tremendous change. The system of compulsory health insurance will help the country stimulate further development of its insurance market.
The CSHI will include out-patient and polyclinic care, outpatient drug provision by prescription, inpatient care and hospital-assisted care.
