Construction of a new plant in Osh (Kyrgyzstan) for production of semi-automatic washing machines of the Uzbek manufacturer of household appliances Artel is aimed at meeting the demand of the Kyrgyz market, the Uzbek company told Trend.
Artel noted that the demand for semi-automatic washing machines in Kyrgyzstan is steadily growing, and Uzbek-made household appliances are becoming increasingly popular.
“Artel products have existed on the Kyrgyz market for several years. During this time, Artel household appliances have become very popular among the locals. The new Artel plant is planned to satisfy the growing demand of the Kyrgyz market for semi-automatic washing machines as quickly as possible since the issues with delivery of new products are fully resolved,” the company said.
According to the information, the factory is currently planning to produce two models of semi-automatic washing machines TG 60 F S and TE 60 LC S of various colors and modifications. The production capacity of the new plant is 50,000−60,000 washing machines per year.
On Sept. 25, the grand opening of the new Artel plant for production of semi-automatic washing machines took place in the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan.
The opening ceremony of the new plant was attended by the deputy prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, the director of the investment promotion and protection agency, the mayor of Osh, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of Artel.
The parties emphasized that establishment of business ties, export of high-quality household appliances, as well as construction of the new production base of Artel will make a significant contribution to the improvement and development of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier, Manager of the Export and Foreign Economic Activity Department of the Artel Group of Companies, Timur Khojaev told Trend that the Uzbek manufacturer of household appliances and electronics has expanded the geography of supplies to over 10 countries in Europe and Central Asia.
According to the company representative, Artel currently has over 50-percent share in the household appliances market of Uzbekistan.
