In January–November 2018, the gross output of animal husbandry in Kazakhstan increased by almost 13 percent year-on-year up to 1.8 trillion tenge, Trend reports with reference to Energyprom.kz.
The highest rates were in Almaty (309.1 billion tenge), East Kazakhstan (254 billion tenge) and Turkistan (228.7 billion tenge) regions, while the greatest growth was in Aktobe (21.9 percent year-on-year), Mangystau (18.8 percent) and Kyzylorda (17.8 percent) regions.
In real terms, the number of eggs produced in January–November 2018 increased by 10.6 percent up to 5.1 billion. Also, the live weight slaughter of livestock and poultry increased by 4.3 percent up to 1.6 million tons, while the cow milk yield rose by 3.3 percent up to 5.3 million tons.
At the same time, the number of farm animals and poultry increased significantly year-on-year. The number of horses rose by 7.3 percent up to 2.5 million, and the number of camels increased by 6.5 percent up to 203,000.
In addition, the number of cattle rose by 4.5 percent up to 7 million, and the number of poultry increased by 9 percent up to 45.3 million.
