The number of public–private partnership projects in Kazakhstan increases every year, Trend reports with reference to Finprom monitoring agency.
The country is actively using measures of such partnership. Based on results of 2018 agreements on some 302 projects were signed which is 61.5 percent more, than in the same period of last year.
Furthermore, some 39 agreements were signed since the beginning of the year.
“Up to 80.8 percent of all partnership projects accounts for education (49.6 percent), health care (20.5 percent), as well as energy and municipal services (10.6 percent),” the report said.
The increase of partnership projects goes hand in hand with increase of government liabilities. The volume of liabilities increased from 215 billion tenge in 2018 to over trillion tenge.
Currently the cost of the signed projects equals to 628.5 billion tenge. The value of attracted private assets amounted to 440 billion tenge, whereas the volume government assets stood at 331.2 billion tenge.
Akmola region is the leader by total cost of the projects with indicators of 269.2 billion tenge. It is followed by Almaty and Nur-Sultan cities with indicators of 60.3 billion and 47.2 billion tenge respectively.
