A fundamentally new airport will be built in Andijan region of Uzbekistan in coming years, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
The environmentally friendly airport will be fed by the sun energy, and the first thing that passengers will see on the approach is a terminal in the shape of the state emblem of Uzbekistan.
"An eco-airport is already functioning in China, which not only is distinguished not only by an unusual architectural solution, but also is compliant with all environmental standards applied in the construction industry. The project to be implemented in the Andijan region implies that the local airport, similarly to the airport in Shenzhen, will use solar energy. And the terminal in the shape of the state emblem of Uzbekistan will make it even more attractive for domestic and foreign tourists," Chinese investor Hu Ren Keng said.
He added that the construction work will start in August-September this year, and will be completed in 2020.
