UzAuto Motors (former GM Uzbekistan) stated that it reduced the cost of cars produced by the company by about 1.2 trillion soums (about $ 140 million) last year, Trend reports with reference to UzAuto motors.
"These measures have allowed us to keep retail prices at the same level, despite the abolition of tax incentives, inflation, the devaluation of the national currency. We also held promotions on a regular basis to provide discounts and interest-free installments to buyers," the company noted.
To date, according to UzAuto Motors, the average level of localization of the cars production has exceeded 55 percent.
Last year alone, production of over 100 components was initiated, which increased the level of localization by 3 percent. In general, the volume of imports was reduced by $157 million over the year.
This year, the company intends to export cars for $151 million.
