The British company Ebury has shown interest in establishing cooperation with Uzbekistan in the development of financial technologies to modernize traditional financial services and products, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Prospects of this cooperation were discussed at a video conference held on July 26, 2019, by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United Kingdom with participation of China UK Venture Association. The Association includes 100 Chinese, British and international companies that collectively manage assets of more than $700 billion.
More than 50 representatives of private British, Chinese and Uzbek companies, as well as senior officials of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the administrations of Namangan and Kashkadarya regions of Uzbekistan, the Uzeltechsanoat Association, the Agency for the Development of Viticulture and Winemaking under the Ministry of Agriculture and Trade, and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan took part in the event.
The participants underlined the relevance of expanding the production capacity of enterprises for the manufacture of products made of terry cloth (towels) for their further export to China. In this context, the attractiveness of the offer of the Oktosh Textiles company, located in the Turakurgan district of the Namangan region, was noted due to the geographical proximity to the markets of the western provinces of China.
Chinese company JST Electronics, which produces electrical equipment, has announced its readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future to hold talks with the Uzeltechsanoat Association.
Following the negotiations, agreements were reached on the elaboration of joint investment projects by the Uzbek Agency for the Development of Viticulture and Winemaking and Chinese company Zhejiang Uniview technology.
The parties also agreed to hold similar events on a regular basis, with the participation of members of the Association and interested Uzbek companies with a focus on various sectors of the economy of common interest including chemical industry, agriculture, textiles and others.
