The Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine of Uzbekistan has commissioned a new complex for processing refractory gold ores, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
The project in Central Kyzylkum desert costs about $100 million.
The complex was built as part of the project to improve the technology for extracting gold from refractory ores of the Kokpatas and Daugiztau quarries in Central Kyzylkum, which are the raw material base of the hydrometallurgical plant (HMP) No. 3.
Such an enterprise has no analogues in the world, and putting it into operation will increase the efficiency of using raw materials at HMP No. 3 by eight percent, and the production of finished products by 11 percent, the report said.
The suppliers and designers of the enterprise were partners from Germany, Italy and Austria.
It is reported that in 2017–2026, the plant intends to implement 27 projects to modernize existing and build new plants with a total value of more than $3 billion.
Their implementation will increase the plant's production capacity by 30 percent, as well as create about 31,000 additional jobs.
