The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 572,766 vehicles during first eight months of 2019, which is 1.4 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.
As of September 1, 2019, the number of passenger cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.686 million cars.
According to the committee’s data, 84.3 percent of registered cars operate on petrol, compared to 84.1 percent in previous month. Some 13 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel (13.2 percent in previous month) and 2.6 percent - on diesel fuel (2.6 percent in previous month).
During the reporting period, the number of registered car accidents amounted to 10,109 cases, which is 4.6 percent more than during the same period of last year, and 14,781 people were injured in these accidents.
As of September 1, 2019, insurance companies made 48,842 payments worth 18.9 billion tenge (approximately $48.571 million) on Mandatory Vehicle Owner’s Third Party Liability Insurance.
