During a recent visit of Uzbekistan’s Minister of Innovation Development Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov to Russia's Skolkovo Innovation Center, a range of issues was discussed regarding the free participation of Uzbek start-up companies in Skolkovo's Softlanding program, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a joint Russian-Uzbek competition of startup projects next year. The best of them will be combined into joint projects, for which co-financing is provided.
The Russian side also offered to organize targeted training courses for 25 Uzbek start-up companies at the beginning of next year. As agreed, every year, 100 young Uzbek scientists will be sent to research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences for short-term internships.
Members of the Uzbek delegation got acquainted with the activities of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. In conclusion, partnership agreements were signed between the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, as well as between the Russian institute and Tashkent State Technical University named after First President Islam Karimov.
From now on, Uzbek graduates will participate in Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology’s master's programs on a competitive basis, and professors and teachers from Uzbekistan will be sent to short-term continuing education courses.
Skolkovo Innovation Center is a modern scientific and technological innovation complex for the development and commercialization of new technologies operating in Moscow.
The complex provides special economic conditions for companies operating in priority sectors of modernization of the Russian economy: telecommunications and space, biomedical technology, energy efficiency, information technology and nuclear technology.
