In Turkmenistan, it is planned to build new facilities to increase the volume and expand the range of the chemical industry products, Trend reports with reference to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The country's raw materials allow to produce all types of mineral fertilizers in volumes that meet domestic needs, as well as significantly increase export potential of the industry.
These include production of mineral fertilizers, urea-formaldehyde concentrate, iodine-bromine products, caustic soda and chlorine, and the integrated development of hydromineral resources of Garabogaz Bay.
In particular, a chemical plant in the Turkmenabad city of the country's Lebap region will soon begin to produce a number of mineral fertilizer varieties.
It is also planned to build a plant for the production of various types of azophoska with an annual capacity of 170,000 tons.
At the same time, work is underway to attract investment in the establishment of an ammonium sulfate production facility with a capacity of 65,000 tons per year.
Effective mineral fertilizing of crops is supposed to be obtained from sulfuric acid and ammonia produced at domestic enterprises. Most of the granular ammonium sulfate is expected to be exported, the report said.
At the Marykarbamid plant in Mary region, it is planned to build a workshop for the production of urea-formaldehyde concentrate with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons.
Also, the Turkmenhimiya State Concern plans to reconstruct the Tejenkarbamid plant in the Akhal region in order to further organize the production of Urea-ES nitrogen-sulfate fertilizer, which contains sulfur.
It was noted that in a short period, four enterprises were built and commissioned in the country - Marykarbamid, Garabogazkarbamid, Garlyk mining and processing complex for the production of potash fertilizers and a sulfuric acid production unit.
The capacity of the state concern for the production of mineral fertilizers tripled with the commissioning of the new enterprises, which created more than 3,500 new jobs.
However, the constructed plants have not been brought to full design capacity, which would allow timely and sufficient supply of the country's agricultural sector with mineral fertilizers, export them and gain profit in foreign currency, the Turkmen president noted.
Corresponding work on the reconstruction of obsolete chemical enterprises has not been carried out, proper measures are not taken to equip them with modern technologies. As a result, the plan for the production of mineral fertilizers by the State Concern for January-October 2019 was implemented by just over 59 percent.
The main goal of the concern’s work is to ensure the needs of national economy and the population of Turkmenistan in mineral fertilizers and chemical products, as well as to sell them abroad.
This structure was formed in 2007 with the aim of organizing the management of enterprises producing and distributing mineral fertilizers and chemical products in Turkmenistan. The state chemical concern consists of nine industrial enterprises, an enterprise providing services in the sale of mineral fertilizers to consumers (Dokunkhimiya) and a branch research institute (institute of chemistry).
