The volume of tax revenues of Uzbekistan in the period from February 1 to February 28, 2021, increased by 8.2 percent compared to the same period last month of this year, Trend reports citing the results of the analysis of the business activity in Uzbekistan’s regions published by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR).
The CERR monthly analyzes the business activity of the regions of Uzbekistan based on operational monitoring data in all regions of the county according to the data of the State Customs and Tax Committees, the Central Bank, and the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.
According to the CERR, a significant increase in tax revenues was noted in Kashkadarya (38.3 percent), Andijan (32.4 percent), Bukhara (17.6 percent) regions, and in the Karakalpakstan Republic (9 percent).
At the same time, the receipts from customs payments for the analyzed period increased by 3.7 percent. The largest increase in the volume of receipts was noted in Surkhandarya (83.2 percent), Khorezm (47.1 percent), and Fergana (19.2 percent) regions.
To date, the largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China, Russia, and Kazakhstan. In turn, the growth of foreign trade activity and the increase in domestic demand from the population made it possible to increase customs revenues.
According to the State Customs Committee, the volume of exports of goods increased by 11.3 percent. The growth in the volume of exports of goods was in Bukhara (71.2 percent), Surkhandarya (39 percent), Navoi (34.9 percent), Khorezm (28.1 percent) regions.
It is noted that the increase in external demand for traditional items of Uzbek exports led to a gradual increase in the export of goods, which indicates a gradual stabilization of the world economy after the acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, the CERR noted that the volume of loans issued by commercial banks over the past month increased by 46.5 percent. The largest growth in the volume of loans issued is observed in Fergana (2.3 times) Navoi (97.9 percent) and Khorezm (95.8 percent) regions and in the Karakalpakstan Republic (2.6 times).
Also, during the reporting period, 9,508 new business entities were created, the largest number of which was registered in Kashkadarya (1,030), Samarkand (888), Tashkent (768) regions, and in Tashkent (1,558).
In addition, the volume of transactions at the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange for the analyzed period increased by 15.2 percent. A significant increase in exchange activity is observed in Kashkadarya (49.9 percent), Namangan (48.2 percent), Surkhandarya (44.6 percent), and Tashkent (36.5 percent) regions.
The CERR added that after the lifting of quarantine restrictions in Uzbekistan, there was a gradual recovery of economic activity, which is primarily due to the large-scale measures taken by the government during the acute phase of the crisis to support all sectors of the economy.
