The value of foreign trade turnover of ferrous metal products in Azerbaijan amounted to $148.9 million in the first 4 months of 2021, having increased threefold as compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
From January through April 2021, the export of ferrous metal products amounted to $7.64 million.
“At the same time, import of ferrous metal products to Azerbaijan decreased by $10.7 million or 20 percent over the year and amounted to $141.3 million. The share of these products in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 4.01 percent,” the bulletin reads.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover approached $24.5 billion in 2020, which is 26.5 percent less than in 2019.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover, $13.7 billion accounted for export, decreasing by 30 percent year on year. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover decreased by 2.81 percent over the year up to 56.15 percent.
In 2020, Azerbaijan’s import amounted to $10.7 billion, having decreased by 21.5 percent compared to 2019. The share of imports in the country’s foreign trade turnover rose by 2.81 percent up to 43.85 percent.
