The Business Activity Index in Uzbekistan amounted to 1.059 points in August 2021, which is 5.9 percent more compared to July 2021, Trend reports citing the Center for Economic Research and Reforms of Uzbekistan.
According to the Center's experts, the increase occurred due to the fact that the number of interbank transactions in August 2021 increased by 188,500 compared to July 2021 and amounted to 4.69 million.
The total turnover at the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange reached $533.4 million, which is 18.1 percent more compared to the previous month. Moreover, the number of small businesses increased by 7,300, and the total number reached 462,300.
The total number of farms in the country increased by 191 units, and reached 108,790.On the other hand, the number of operating large enterprises decreased by 9 units, and their total number dropped to 3,050. In August of this year, legal entities registered 460 trademarks and trade names.
Note that in July the Business Activity Index was 994 points and decreased by 0.6 percent as compared to June; the number of transactions on bank accounts of business entities decreased by 7.9 percent.
