Export volume from Iran's Enzeli port sees significant growth

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. In the first 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 20 to September 21, 2024), exports of products from Enzeli port in northern Iran's Gilan Province have increased by 49 percent compared to the same period last year (March 21 to September 22, 2023), Director General of the Port and Maritime Administration Huseyin Younesi told media, Trend reports.

According to him, 255,000 tons of products have been exported through Enzeli port in 6 months.

Younesi added that petrochemical products, construction materials, mining minerals, and many others were exported to Caspian countries during the 6 months.

During the mentioned period, 30 thousand tons of cement were exported, which is 10 times more than in the same period last year.

He also noted that 505 thousand tons of essential products (wheat, barley, corn, pressed soybeans, and vegetable oil) were imported through Enzeli port during the 6 months.

Yunesi said that 2.61 thousand tons of TEU containers were loaded and unloaded at the port during the 6 months.

During the said period, 339 vessels were called at the port.
