BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. The World Trade Organization (WTO) has released updated forecasts for commercial services trade volume growth in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Trend reports.
In this forecast, the WTO defines trade as the export of services.
According to the WTO's latest projections, the baseline forecast for CIS services trade growth in 2025 stands at 3.6%, but the adjusted forecast drops significantly to just 1.1%.
In contrast, the outlook for 2026 appears more optimistic. While the baseline forecast predicts 3% growth, the adjusted figure rises to 3.5%, suggesting a potential rebound in services trade momentum.
The region saw strong growth in the previous two years, with commercial services trade volumes increasing by 8.1% in 2024 and 7.2% in 2023, highlighting the sharp contrast between recent performance and the more subdued projections for 2025.
