ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 7. During his working visit to Brazil, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, held a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of the country’s major economic associations and large industrial corporations, including Embraer, Tramontina, Vale, Marcopolo, and Amazul, Trend reports.
In the course of meeting with Francisco Gomes Neto, President of the aircraft manufacturer Embraer, the parties discussed strategic directions for the company’s continued presence in the region, including the possibility of opening a regional service center for aircraft maintenance in Kazakhstan.
Moreover, during talks with Ricardo Alban, President of the National Confederation of Industry of Brazil, and Gilberto Petry, Vice President of the confederation and Co-Chairman of the Kazakhstan–Brazil Business Council, appreciation was expressed for their active role in strengthening economic ties with Kazakhstan. They also discussed ways to further expand cooperation. Minister Nurtleu emphasized the importance of attracting Brazilian investors to Kazakhstan and invited the Brazilian business community to participate in the fourth session of the Business Council, which will take place in Kazakhstan later this year.
Günter Leandro Brinkmann, Regional Director of Tramontina, announced plans to open an official representative office in Almaty in the near future, reflecting strong interest in the Kazakh market.
Meanwhile, in discussions with Sami Arap, Executive Vice President of the mining company Vale, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of the company’s delegation to Kazakhstan for in-depth discussions on potential joint projects in the raw materials sector. The company also expressed interest in entering the Kazakh market.
In collaboration with Mauro Gilberto Bellini, the Vice President
of Marcopolo, both parties engaged in a comprehensive dialogue to
identify synergies in the localization paradigm of passenger
transport manufacturing, encompassing a strategic initiative for
bus assembly operations in Kazakhstan.
Minister Nurtleu further urged stakeholders from Latin America to
engage more proactively within the Kazakhstan–Brazil Business
Council framework, leveraging this platform to enhance economic
synergies and execute collaborative initiatives.
During the engagement, a roundtable convened focusing on the theme
“Brazil–Kazakhstan: Prospects for Cooperation,” featuring
stakeholders from Brazil’s premier industrial associations and
corporate entities. The symposium concentrated on contemporary
investment paradigms and trade synergies, showcased discourses on
the prospects within the Kazakh marketplace, and culminated in the
execution of multiple bilateral memoranda of understanding.
In the fiscal year 2024, bilateral commerce between the two nations
surpassed the $257 million threshold, and during Q1 of 2025, the
trade volume experienced a remarkable uptick of 88 percent,
culminating in a total of $104.2 million.
