Operation of the Central Asia United Energy System will be complicated in winter, Kazakh Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Bakhytzhan Zhaksaliyev believes, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.
"Due to possible extraordinary electricity consumption by some Central Asian countries, operation of the Central Asia United Energy System will be complicated," Zhaksaliyev said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
According to Zhaksaliyev, accidents took place in Ust-Kamenogorsk on Sept.19 and Almaty on Sept.24 in Central Asia United Energy System and these facts show imbalance electric power output and consumption in some power centers and reduced operational and engineering discipline of Almaty region's department of the Kazakh Electricity Grid Operating Company's (KEGOC).
"In this regard, KEGOC is developing a special plan to prevent emergency situations," Zhaksaliyev said.
He said the maximum load on the Central Asia United Energy System in the upcoming season will amount to 14, 100 megawatts or 5 percent higher than in last winter.
