Kazakh Shymkent refinery has resumed oil production, Kazinform reported with the reference to refinery's owner PetroKazakhstan company.
"Today the Shymkent refinery put in operation the primary oil distillation unit and started oil production," the company said.
The Shymkent refinery has been under maintenance since October 8.
According to filling station owners, stoppage of Shymkent refinery resulted in lack of fuel in South Kazakhstan region.
Currently Kazakhstan has three oil refineries: Shymkent refinery, Atyrau refinery and Pavlodar petrochemical plant.
