In 2013, Azerbaijan is planning to obtain 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas from the Shah Deniz field, a source in the oil and gas market told Trend.
This year, about 5.2 billion cubic meters of gas will be transported from the Shah Deniz field to Turkey. 700 million cubic meters of gas will be supplied to Georgia. Nearly 150 million cubic meters will fall to the pumping stations of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
In 2013, SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) will continue exports of its own gas in Georgia as part of export operations to be supplied.
Supplies of 850 million cubic meters of gas are planned for Georgia as exports, whereas two billion cubic meters is to be supplied to Russia under a contract with Gazprom.
The contract to develop the offshore Shah Deniz field was signed on June 4, 1996. Participants to the agreement are: BP (operator) - 25.5 per cent, Statoil - 25.5 per cent, NICO - 10 per cent, Total - 10 per cent, Lukoil - 10 per cent, TPAO - nine per cent and SOCAR-10 per cent.
Total reserves of Shah Deniz field are estimated at 1.2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
