Gazprom International company will soon start exploration work in the West Shokhambari field in Tajikistan, Asia Plus reported with the reference to the Tajik Energy and Industry Ministry.
Tajik Energy and Industry Minister Gul Sherali and Gazprom International's Managing Director Valery Gulev discussed this issue within the telephone conversation.
The parties also discussed the working process at Shahrinav -1p well in Sarikamish field and training organization in the oil and gas sphere for Tajik specialists by Gazprom. The parties had earlier negotiated on this issue.
"Gazprom's exploration work in Tajikistan were assessed as positive," the Ministry said.
Gazprom and Tajikistan are cooperating on the basis of long-term (up to 2028) agreement on strategic cooperation in the gas sector from May 15, 2003 and the Agreement on the general principles of the Tajikistan's reserves geological study from June 10, 2008.
