Another container train has proceeded along the route China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran, state news agency "Turkmen Dovlet Khabarlary" reports.
On May 9, the train, loaded with 1150 tons of sunflower seeds left the city of Bayan-Nur, which is located in the North of China, and went out in transit along the transport corridor "North-South".
The inclusion of the railway network of Turkmenistan in the regional logistics system meets the objectives of the country's economic development, taking into account the advantages of its geographical location.
The National Network of Railways of the People's Republic of China announced that, in accordance with the established time, the container train from Bayan-Nur crossed the Chinese-Kazakh border at the junction of the stations "Khorgos" (PRC) – "Altyn Kol" (Kazakhstan), then reaching "Bolashak" station, where it crossed the Kazakh-Turkmen border.
The Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan stated that, the freight train has passed the distance of 700 kilometers ahead of schedule – just for one day, thanks to new modern steel rail tracks and modernized stations, including the sorting station "Bereket", where recently a locomotive depot equipped with the most advanced equipment and technologies was put into operation.
The train crossed the state border in the South of the country near the stations "Akyayla" (Turkmenistan) – "Injeburun" (IRI).
On May 22, the Chinese container train reached the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran – Tehran, covering the distance of 8352 kilometers in 13 days. And it is more than 3 times faster than the previous route of supply using sea transport.
The Chinese city of Bayan-Nur, as the country's largest producer of sunflower seeds, annually exports about 180,000 tons of seeds of this valuable crop, 90 percent of which are supplied to the Middle East, European and Latin American markets.
Today, Chinese suppliers pay special attention to the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transport corridor.
At present, the main steel rail track, which connects three friendly states, plays an increasingly important role as one of the key routes of the Great Silk Road.
The operation of this railway line allows to increase the volume of cargo traffic and to use new opportunities for trade and economic cooperation in the region and on the continent.
The reduction of travel time, respectively, reduces transport costs, by increasing the economic profitability of the route.
