Seventy-three biomass boilers have been installed in the North Kazakhstan Region, deputy governor of the region Anton Fedyaev said.
"All 73 boilers work successfully. Some 82 facilities, including 26 budget organizations, have been connected to them. It is expected that more than 70 facilities will be connected to this type of heating system this year. Four boilers, running on biomass, have been installed in two districts. Work is underway for installation of boilers and connection of 25 facilities to them in four districts. According to estimates, 25 budget organizations will save 14,000 tons of coal: this amounts to 100 million tenge at the current cost," Fedyaev said, Kazinform reports.
He added that there are no actual plans for installation of biomass boilers in some districts of the region this year.
"The region is now buying the boilers made in Poland, worth from 7 to 15 million tenge," he said.
Fedyaev said local companies were studying the possibility of assembling the biomass boilers, but abandoned this work due to non-profitability of production.
"The assembly of boilers in our region was mulled with three enterprises. The Avaro company, producing the agricultural machinery, prepared two experimental prototypes. They are operated successfully in the Tayinshin district. Nevertheless, the company refused to continue the assembly due to big costs," Fedyaev said.
