The project of increasing the quality and quantity of petrol and diesel fuel at southern Iran’s Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery has been put into operation, Trend reports referring to the Young Journalists Club (YJC).
According to the information, this project is being implemented for increasing the production and quality of petrol and diesel in Iran.
Hashim Navar, Managing Director of Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company said that the plant will produce 12 million liters of gasoline daily in accordance with the Euro-5 standard, and 15 million liters of diesel daily per Euro-4 standard.
"The quality of gasoline produced by this project has been increased. So, the sulfur content is reduced from 400 ppm to 10 ppm," he said.
According to Namvar, the octane number has been increased based on the standard of produced petrol, and the sulfur content in diesel fuel produced has been reduced from 50 ppm (parts-per-million) to 10 ppm.
Iran's Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery ranks third among Iran's oil refineries in terms of capacity, processing roughly 350,000 barrels of crude oil and gas condensate daily. The company also has a special platform for obtaining crude oil and exporting its products.
