Joint Stock Company Uzbekenergo intends to conduct preliminary qualification of contractors for the construction of two gas turbine plants within a turnkey ECP project for Tashkent thermal power plant complex, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy.
The project involves the construction of two highly efficient gas turbine units (GTUs) with a capacity of 27 MW each.
The project will be implemented with the help of borrowed funds received from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Holding of the tender is scheduled for May 2020, it was reported.
The Tashkent thermal power plant was built in 1939. It provides heat and electricity to domestic consumers, social facilities and industrial enterprises of Tashkent.
A modern cogeneration gas turbine unit was launched here in 2014. Due to the implementation of the first phase of the project, the capacity of the TPP has increased by 27.5 MW. The main supplier of electrical equipment for Tashkent TPP was the O'zelektroapparat-Electroshield Joint-Stock Company.
More than seven construction, installation and commissioning companies of Uzbekistan, Russia and Japan took part in the construction of the gas turbine plant.
The introduction of an additional source of generating capacity at the Tashkent TPP made it possible to increase fuel efficiency and reduce specific emissions of pollutants per unit of produced capacity in the nearest districts of Tashkent city.
