The first phase of the Jask oil terminal in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) will be commissioned by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 - March 21, 2021), administrator of Jask oil terminal, Vahid Maleki, Trend reports citing Pars Oil and Gas Company’s website.
Maleki stressed that according to the plan, 1 unit Crude Oil Custody Transfer Metering System, 2 units 36-inch pipelines, and 1 unit floating system Single Point Mooring (SPM) will be put into operation.
He added that there was 35 percent progress in the first phase of the terminal by the end of the 5th month (July 22-August 21), and 10 percent progress is expected each month.
The official noted that in total, several crude oil custody transfer metering systems, 6 subsea pipelines, and 3 SPM must be commissioned at the Jask oil terminal.
"The goal of the full commissioning of the Jask Oil Terminal is to export 1 million barrels of crude oil per day through this terminal," he said.
According to Maleki, the Jask oil terminal is the last point of the Goureh-Jask pipeline on the transportation of crude oil. The construction and improvement of this terminal were entrusted by the National Iranian Oil Company to the Pars Oil and Gas Company in the last Iranian year.
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
According to the program, the pipeline will be commissioned next year (begins March 21, 2021).
It is also planned to build a 30 million-barrel oil storage facility on 460 hectares at the Iranian Jask oil terminal. As part of this program, a storage facility for 10 million barrels of oil is being built.
