The development of the Saman, Delaveran and Sumar oil reservoirs of the Iran’s West Oil and Gas Production Company will be launched, Executive Director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) Ramin Hatami said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
The director emphasized that in addition, the development of the oil reservoirs of the Naft Shahr field is also planned.
Hatami added that the Tang-e-Bijar gas field is currently being developed. The development work on this field will be completed by the end of the current Iranian year. The increase in extraction from this field is important in supplying of fuel to the Ilam Gas Refinery.
“The West Oil and Gas Production Company has been fulfilled its production plan by 100 percent. So, the extraction from the Dehloran and Naft Shahr fields increased by 37 percent for about 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to February 19, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
As reported, Iran's West Oil and Gas Production Company extracted 12.7 million barrels of crude oil and about 967 million cubic meters of gas during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21).
The Dehloran oil field (this field is called Abu Ghraib in Iraq) is located 180 km south of Kermanshah city and 22 km southwest of Dehloran county. The Dehloran field was discovered in 1972. The field contains 4.21 billion barrels of crude oil, of which 635 million barrels can be extracted.
Daily 37,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted from the field at present. It is estimated that this figure increase to 40,000 barrels daily.
There are about 692 million barrels of crude oil in the Iran-Iraq joint Naft Shahr oil field (called Naft Khana in Iraq). Iran extracts 5,000 barrels of crude oil from this field per day.
