Modern equipment, including transformers, was delivered to the Kizil Ravot substation located 80 kilometers from the Turakurgan TPP (thermal power plant) within the framework of construction of the Turakurgan Thermal Power Plant in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the press service of Thermal Power Plants JSC.
According to the information, built in 1987 at the junction of the Uychinsky and Uchkurgan districts of the Namangan region Kizil Ravot substation transforms electricity from 220 kV to 110 kV.
It is reported that the equipment of the Kizil Ravot substation needed exactly a complete replacement, while its partial replacement or major repairs were both labor-consuming and requiring large financial investments and insufficiently effective.
In this regard, both industry specialists and international experts, the reconstruction of the substation and its equipment with new modern installations, was recognized as the most effective and optimal way.
"To date, the substation is fully equipped with primary equipment and installations," the message said.
In particular, it was envisaged to install new transformers that meet modern requirements and operate in automatic mode instead of two outdated transformers. At present, the installation of transformers has been completed, and the specialists are carrying out adjustment work.
Also, the installation of primary equipment at five substation bays was completed, and work is underway on the program for replacing the AT-2 power autotransformer at the other three bays. The installation of equipment, power and control cables has been completed, adjustment work is underway to put them into operation.
In addition, it is reported that the pipeline and external water supply system is being installed, as well as a number of other works.
"The commissioning of the Kizil Ravot substation this year after the completion of all installation and commissioning works will contribute to the stable power supply of consumers in the region," the statement said.
