The last meeting on the Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline (IAP) was held on January 18, 2022, Croatian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Branco Zebic told Trend.
“It was planned to have live meeting in Split, Croatia, but due to COVID-19 situation it was transferred to on-line,” the envoy explained.
Zebic pointed out that IAP will provide another source of gas, which will help Croatia to fulfil role of three different sources of gas and, at the same time, will increase security and potential of gas supply to Croatia but also to other EU members.
Ionian Adriatic Pipeline can be connected to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to transport gas to many countries in South-East Europe.
The pipeline with total length of 516 kilometers will stretch from Albania through Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to split in Croatia.
The capacity of the pipeline will amount to five billion cubic meters of gas per year. Possible time of implementation of the project hasn’t been announced yet.
