BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 16. Israel has increased oil purchases from Azerbaijan almost 1.4 times in January 2024 compared to January 2023, Trend reports.
According to Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee (SCC), the supply of declared oil to Israel in January 2024 amounted to 523,554 tonnes - more than a third of the total volume exported by Azerbaijan in January.
The country earned $297 million from this venture.
Israel purchased 381,940 tonnes of oil for $237 million in January 2023.
To note, Israel has been one of the top three customers of oil from Azerbaijan for many years and receives it in the Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, where it arrives via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
