BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. The output of urea (nitrogen fertilizers) at the SOCAR Carbamide plant in Azerbaijan's Sumgayit from January through June 2024 amounted to 304,600 tons, which is twice as much as in the same period of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, SOCAR Carbamide had 35,800 tons of urea stored in its warehouses on July 1.
Established just over five years ago, in 2023 this enterprise produced 454,000 tons of urea, with 148,800 tons exported to EU countries.
Throughout its operations, the enterprise has produced over 2 million tons of nitrogen fertilizers, exporting approximately 85 percent of its total production.
