BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 19. SOCAR Polymer’s polypropylene (PP) plant produced 71,000 tons of products from January through June 2024, Trend reports via the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 184,000 tons of polypropylene.
It manufactures 40 different products used in the automotive, electrical, agricultural, chemical, and light industries.
Up to 90 percent of the plant's output is exported, with Russia accounting for 60 percent of the exports.
The plant's operations contribute to the growth of Azerbaijan's non-oil sector.
In 2023, SOCAR Polymer's operations, including the polypropylene and high-density polyethylene plants, generated revenue of 512 million manat, or $301.1 million, marking a 46 percent increase compared to 2022.
