BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Azerbaijan's hydropower and thermal power plants produced 2.72 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) and 20.26 billion kWh of electricity from January through November of this year, respectively.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistical Committee shows that the electricity output by hydropower plants decreased by 1.13 billion kWh (71.3 percent) compared to the same period last year.
Besides, the output by thermal power plants lowered by 2.12 billion kWh (9.5 percent) year on year.
Additionally, in the first 11 months of 2024, 182.8 million kWh of electricity was produced by burning waste, which is 5.8 percent more than in the same period in 2023.
To note, from January through November 2024, nearly 24.36 billion kWh of electricity was produced in Azerbaijan, which is 572.1 million kWh (2.3 percent) less than in the first 11 months of last year.
Meanwhile, goods and services worth 2.79 billion manat ($1.64 billion) in the sector of electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply were produced and provided in Azerbaijan.
