BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Natural gas consumption in Azerbaijan rose by 1.7 percent, or 226.6 million cubic meters, in 2024, reaching a total of 13.7 bcm.
Data obtained by Trend from SOCAR’s (State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan) annual report on drilling, production, processing, and export indicators shows that in 2023, the country consumed a total of 13.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
SOCAR independently or as a major stakeholder in operating fields produced 7.5 million tons of oil and 7.7 billion cubic meters of gas last year. The trend of increasing gas production continued, with output growing by 4.4 percent compared to the previous year, totaling 50.4 billion cubic meters.
In total, over 29 million tons of crude oil were produced in Azerbaijan during the year.
