BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. The volume of oil transferred through the Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP) has reached nearly 100 million tons since the beginning of the period, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy.
WREP runs from the Sangachal terminal in Azerbaijan to the Supsa terminal in Georgia. The pipeline plays a key role in transporting crude oil from Caspian Sea oil fields to the Black Sea coast, from where it is sent to European markets through the Bosporus Strait.
To note, the Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP) and the Supsa terminal have been in official operation for 26 years, serving as critical conduits for the transportation of Azerbaijani crude to international markets.
