ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 8. Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas, Askhat Khassenov, held a meeting in the city of Zhanaozen and discussed the activities of JSC "Ozenmunaigas" (OMG), Trend reports via KazMunayGas.
According to information, OMG management stated that oil production for the first six months of 2025 amounted to 2.526 million tons. The target for the current year is 5.25 million tons.
The company is continuing to implement a project for the rehabilitation of the Uzen and Karamandybas fields. Pilot industrial testing is underway for slimhole well drilling, and technologies such as polymer flooding and radial reservoir penetration are being introduced. Efforts are being made to extend the interval between maintenance, update infrastructure, and automate production processes.
Special attention was given to improving working and living conditions for employees and updating oilfield equipment, special machinery, and vehicles. In 2025, the construction of nine utility-residential buildings is planned; contracts have been signed, and construction and installation work have begun. Renovation of 13 socially significant facilities is also planned.
Following the meeting, Askhat Khassenov instructed the company to take measures to improve operational efficiency, maintain stable production levels, and enhance social and living infrastructure.
"Ozenmunaigas" (OMG) is one of Kazakhstan’s largest oil-producing enterprises, located in Zhanaozen, Mangystau Region. The company is a subsidiary of JSC "Exploration Production KazMunayGas" and is engaged in the development of the Uzen and Karaton-Sartybay oil fields. OMG plays a key role in ensuring the country’s energy security and contributes significantly to the regional economy.
