Almaty leads by foreign currency sale among Kazakhstan regions

During January-April 2019 the volume of foreign currencies net sale in Kazakhstan amounted to 654.4 billion tenge, Trend reports via ranking.kz

The volume of US dollar net sale amounted to 365.5 billion tenge in the reporting period, which is 30.8 percent more than in the same period of last year.

In April official exchange rate of US dollar on average amounted to 379.4 tenge per dollar.

Almaty, Kazakhstan is the leader among other Kazakhstan regions by the volume of US dollar net sale (148.3 billion tenge, +27.8 percent compared to the same period of 2018).

It is followed by Shymkent city (51.4 billion tenge) and Atyrau region (31.9 billion tenge, +64.3 percent).

The volume of euro net sale increased by annual 45.9 percent and equaled 105.4 billion tenge.

Euro exchange rate amounted to 426.5 tenge per one euro in April 2019, which is an increase of 6.8 percent compared to 399.2 tenge of April 2018.

Once again Almaty is the leader by net sale volume (58.3 billion tenge, +65.6 percent). It is followed by Nur-Sultan (10.1 billion tenge, -19.8 percent) and Shymkent (7.3 billion tenge).

Net sale volume of Russian rubles decreased by 26.7 percent and stood at 183.5 billion tenge.

The average Russian ruble exchange rate in April amounted to 5.9 tenge per one ruble, which is an increase of 9.5 percent compared to 5.4 tenge in the same period of the previous year.

By the volume of Russian ruble net sale Kazakh and Russia border regions are among leaders: East Kazakhstan region (27.7 billion tenge), Kostanay region (20.6 billion tenge, -8.8 percent0 and Pavlodar region (19.9 billion, -3.5 percent).

Furthermore, Kyzylorda region and Turkestan region of Kazakhstan displayed negative numbers by the volume of foreign currencies net sale with indicators of -1.2 billion tenge and -497.5 million tenge.
