Uzbek companies will be able to get at Astana International Exchange (AIX) all services that world's leading exchanges provide, without being ‘lost’ in a large number of companies’ bigger markets, such as London, AIX CEO Tim Bennett told Trend in an interview.
Recently Trend reported that AIX offered Uzbek companies to sell their shares on Astana International Exchange to attract foreign capital.
“Foreign investors are more interested in the whole region, rather than in a separate country. The wider the choice of opportunities for an investor, the more likely he will invest in Central Asia. Therefore, AIX would like to provide maximum of possibilities to market participants for the benefit of the entire region,” Bennett stated.
The spokesperson of the exchange stressed that the more products provides, the more investors will come to the region and to the capital market of Central Asia, so the more new issuers will join AIX.
“Issuers have the right to choose for listing any exchange. On AIX, we are ready to offer a developed ecosystem of local and foreign brokers (both European and Asian), a modern trading platform, and regulatory environment familiar to foreign investors,” Bennett added.
He noted that AIX can provide its existing ecosystem of trading members and the infrastructure to Uzbek private and state companies which are interested in attracting capital through IPOs.
Astana International Exchange (AIX) was created with the aim of attracting investment in a region where the capital market has historically been underdeveloped and needs innovation.
Previously, the opportunity for foreign investors to enter the Kazakh market through a local exchange was limited by domestic legislation, the lack of involvement of large international brokers and investors, lack of local investor interest, difficulty in cooperation, and low liquidity.
The official added that AIX gives investors the opportunity to invest in an untapped region that is requires investment has good growth potential.
