The volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan increased by 4.4 percent in January 2020 compared to the first month of 2019, Trend reports with the reference to Committee of Statistics of Uzbekistan.
The volume of industrial production made up 27.9 trillion soum ($2.92 billion).
The largest volume of industrial production in January 2020 fell on enterprises of processing industry - 75.7 percent against 71.2 percent in January 2019. All in all, this segment grew by 8.6 percent to 21.1 trillion soum ($2.21 billion) in the reporting period.
The share of mining and quarrying enterprises in the total volume of industrial production fell from 18.7 percent to 14.3 percent in the first month of this year. In total, this segment decreased by 9 percent to 4 trillion soum ($418.3 million).
The share of enterprises of electricity, gas and steam supply, air conditioning made up 9.4 percent in January this year against 9.2 percent in the past, and the volume of production increased by 2.5 percent to 2.6 trillion soum ($273.8 million).
The share of water supply, sewerage and waste utilization enterprises in the total volume of industrial production decreased from 0.9 to 0.6 percent, and the total volume of their production decreased by 1.6 percent to 168.2 billion soum ($17.6 million).
In January 2020, production of consumer goods increased by 6.8 percent to 7.6 trillion soum ($792.9 million), and their share in the total structure of industrial production decreased from 27.6 to 21.2 percent.
In January 2020, the volume of industrial production of enterprises with foreign investment made up 7.5 trillion soum ($784.2 million) against 7.8 trillion soum ($930.2 million), and its share in the total volume of industrial production decreased from 35.1 to 26.8 percent.
Earlier it was reported that the volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan increased by 6.6 percent in 2019 compared to the previous year to 331 trillion soum ($34.8 billion) against a 14.4 percent growth in 2018.
