BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. The monetary base in Azerbaijan amounted to 20.8 billion manat ($12.2 billion) on September 30, 2024, which is 16.77 percent or 3 billion manat ($1.7 billion) more than the indicator of the same period of 2023.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Central Bank shows that the monetary base in the reporting period of 2023 exceeded 17.8 billion manat ($10.4 billion).
The indicator of monetary base in September this year is by 1.69 percent, or 347.4 million manat ($204.3 million), more than the indicator as of August 30, 2024.
To note, the monetary base includes cash and free bank and compulsory reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
