BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 7. The monetary base in Azerbaijan stood at 20.9 billion manat ($12.29 billion) on December 29, 2024, marking a 0.2 percent, or 40.8 billion manat ($24 billion), growth from the corresponding period in 2023.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that the monetary base exceeded 20.8 billion manat ($12.2 billion) in the corresponding period of 2023.
As of December last year, the monetary base was 1.65 percent, or 339.2 million manat ($199.5), more than the figure recorded on November 29, 2024.
To note, the monetary base comprises cash, free bank reserves, and compulsory reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
