BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will implement gender-focused initiatives in Azerbaijan, Trend reports citing the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Country Partnership Strategy for Azerbaijan for 2025-2029.
ADB will aim to increase women’s labor force participation and the necessary demand-driven skills—including those related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—to boost economic growth and social inclusion.
ADB will further support women entrepreneurs by facilitating access to capital, business training, and markets to build a female talent pipeline in technical positions, especially in green and sustainable infrastructure sectors.
In line with the modernization of rail electrification and regional transport connectivity, ADB will implement gender-focused initiatives, such as increasing women’s employment in railway jobs, particularly in technical and managerial roles, through targeted recruitment and training. It will promote gender-responsive, climate-resilient agricultural development by enhancing women’s knowledge and farming practices.
As part of its broader commitment to empowering women, ADB will help address gender-based violence in the country.
